Yvonne Reed

Yvonne Estelle (Brown) Reed was born on October 1, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Dorothea Brown. Yvonne attended and graduated from Ames High School.

After moving back to Des Moines, Yvonne worked at a variety of positions. She was a people person and working in the service industry allowed her to meet a wide variety of people. She especially enjoyed her time as a crew member at McDonalds. When Yvonne wasn't working, she enjoyed working and playing games on her computer, ceramics and baking. She was a good cook and her spaghetti was among the best in town.

In 1996, Yvonne married the love of her life, Craig Reed. Yvonne took care of Craig and Craig made Yvonne laugh. Yvonne was easy going and loved being around family and friends, unless you made her mad. She could then be a firecracker! Though she didn't have children, she helped to raise Brujon and Kamita Aldrich as her own. She adopted the whole family and they loved her too. Her heart was full of enough love that she included Craig's family also. She would often visit them in Waterloo, Iowa.

Yvonne passed away on October 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothea Brown and her sister, Elizabeth.

Left to mourn Yvonne's passing are her husband, Craig Reed; her foster mother, Minister Toni Jenkins-Harris; 'her children', Brujon and Kamita Aldrich and their mother, Tanya Aldrich; her other siblings, Treasa Brown, Teri Henderson, Toni Smith and Kevin Jenkins; her god children, Mark Harvey, Enekeya Stallworth, Nateige Camerom, LeEric Fountain, Arnajai Fountain and a host of extended family and friends.
