George Price Jr.

September 3, 1959 — May 21, 2022

George Price Jr.

George Talmadge Price, Jr. - also lovingly known as "The Crusher", "Crush", "Big Daddy" and "Big G" was born September 3, 1959 to George Talmadge Price, Sr. and Bessie Elmae Warren-Price.

He went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May, 21, 2022.

George was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1978. After high school he attended Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education.

George (The Crusher) was given numerous awards and accolades in football both in high school and in college.

He was an all around avid sports fan. His favorite teams included the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. His love for football had him watching the game as often as his time allowed.

Big G worked multiple jobs all of the time. He was employed by Iowa Methodist and Mercy hospitals; Service Master; was a crossing guard for Des Moines Public Schools and worked summer programs for the youth at Des Moines Parks and Recreation. Most would say George was somewhat of a workaholic. He kept 2-3 jobs at all times just to make sure he could be a help to family and friends who may have had a need.

Big Daddy, as his family lovingly called him, was very generous. He saw to his parents needs and made sure they wanted for absolutely nothing - both when they were healthy and in their declining health.

He would literally give his family and anyone he considered a friend the clothes off of his back and would do anything in his power to help those in need.

George was also a prankster and a jokester. Oh the stories we can share! He loved nothing more than a good laugh. He would literally laugh until he had side cramps and tears in his eyes.

He LOVED eating good food, R & B music, when in church service he loved to hear Praise and Worship and choir singing. Big G was always excited to plan family events, photo shoots, and get togethers with friends.

One of his favorite events included his September birthday bashes with his Crush Crew back in the day. He would rent the shelter house at the park, have a DJ, music, tons of good food, fun, and games in order for everyone to have a good time. Crush was ALWAYS the life of the party and a dancing machine! Big G had the smoothest moves on ANY dance floor.

George was preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents Eugene and Lydia Price; maternal grandparents Clarence and Mary Warren and sister Shari Price.

Left to cherish Georges memory are his parents, George Sr. and Bessie Price; siblings; Gregory (Rosella) Price, Shellie (Cornell) Price-Wardlaw and Michelle Price; nephew, Roman (Britney) Price; nieces, Marquie Price, Kiana Dae and Jade Price.

George was also a loving great-uncle to Rylee Price, Cameron Price, Anthony Price, and only great niece Londyn Price. Along with a host of friends that loved him very much.
