Frederick D. Carter passed away July 1, 2021.
Frederick Darnell Carter was born November 29, 1961 to Frederick Thomas Carter and Mary Alma (Buford) Carter in Des Moines, Iowa. Fred was educated in the Des Moines Public School System, where he graduated from Des Moines Tech High School where he showed his stuff as a football player. As a youngster, Fred was baptized at Faith Church of the Nazarene.
Fred was a hard worker. He was trained and performed drywall installations and concrete finishing throughout the city. He was also previously employed by Des Moines Packing House and Titan Tires.
Fred enjoyed playing dominoes with friends, listening to music and playing cards. He liked his hip hop/rap music and would even rap along to the music while he danced. He was a homebody who enjoyed the company of family and friends.
Fred passed away July 1, 2021. Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred Thomas and Mary Carter; his siblings, Montez Carter, Frankie Thomas, Sharon Thomas, Kim McMahan, Clyde Edwards, Joann Carter, Linda Thomas, and William Thomas; his stepdad, Clinton Carter, Sr and his nephew, Robert Clark.
Left to cherish Fred’s memory are his daughter, Marrisa M. Perkins; two grandchildren, Zayn Perkins and Di’Auria Thedford; his siblings, Gary Carter, Clinton Carter, Jr, Daniel Carter, Daryl Carter, Mica King, Billie Jean Clark, Fred Thomas, Lori Ann Thomas, Connie Thomas, Karen Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
