Exie was employed at Latin Industries, sewing as a mender until her retirement in 1985.
At an early age, Exie became a member of Maple Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend George Parrish. She served on the Usher Board, Pastor’s Aide Committee, Mission Board and Mother’s Board. She also sang in the Gospel Choir for over 40 years and the Wings of Grace singing group.
Exie was united in marriage on December 31, 1945 to Pascal P. Marshall. They were married 58 years until his passing in 2005. During this union they were blessed with four children.
Exie loved going to church, reading the Bible, sewing (she made a lot of her own clothing), gardening and word search puzzles.
