Mary Frances (Quinn) Devan was born on January 24, 1929 to Herschel and Grace (Taylor) Quinn in Mobile, MO. Her parents relocated to Des Moines, IA where she graduated from East High School.
Mary was blessed with two sons, Herschel Thomas Davis and Robert Steven Winfrey. Later in life Mary's loving heart welcomed Cynthia Fredericksen in to her family with open arms. Mary dedicated her life to caring for children and grandchildren ensuring they were raised in a loving, nurturing home.
Mary was a member of True Vine Church, where her nephew Bishop Nathan Berry, was her pastor. She solace while fishing and walking through the farmer's market on Saturday mornings. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and playing a slot machine or two.
On January 31, 2016 Mary transitioned from time to eternity when she answered her Savior's call to rest. There to greet her on the other side were her parents, first husband Isaiah Davis; second husband, Charles Devan Jr. and siblings, William Quinn, Raydell Quinn and Doramae James.
Left to cherish Mary's memory are her children, Herschel, Robert and Cynthia; grandchildren, Ricky, Tony, Suzie, Ronnie and James; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joan Quinn and Patty Joe Wells of Davenport, IA., Allene Meadors, Zella (Robert) Williams, Nate Quinn, and John (Betty) Quinn all of Des Moines, IA. and a host of other relatives and friends.
